Warm-up 🔁

Before the new story, let's bring back your words from Lessons 1 and 2. The ones ready to review are waiting here — a little today, a little in a few days.

Where are my keys? 📖

Read it slowly. Say the words out loud.

Mia looks worried, searching her room for her keys — bag open, things on the table.

It is Saturday. Mia wants to go out with Tom. But she can't find her keys! 🔑

"Where are my keys?" she says. She looks on the table. Not there.

She looks in her bag. Not there! She looks under the chair. Not there! Oh no!

Knock, knock! Tom is at the door. "Are you ready, Mia?" "One minute!" she says. "I can't find my keys!"

Tom comes in. "Don't worry. Where is your phone?" he asks. "It's on the table," says Mia.

Tom points to the table. Mia's keys are right next to her phone. Mia laughs, relieved.

"And look — your keys are next to your phone!" says Tom.

Mia laughs. "They were on the table! Thank you, Tom!"

Mia takes her keys and her bag. Now she is ready. "Let's go!" 🌤️

Notice: the keys were on the table, not in the bag or under the chair. These little words tell us where. Learn them next.

The pattern: Where is…? 🧩

To ask, we say Where is…? To answer, we use a small "where" word.

Where is my key? → Where's my key?
It's on the table.  ·  It's in the bag.
It's under the chair.  ·  It's next to the phone.
Picture it: a cup 🫖 on the table · keys 🔑 in the bag · a cat 🐈 under the chair · a phone 📱 next to the keys.

Act it out 🎭

Now YOU are in the story!

🎬 The scene: It is Saturday. You want to go out. Knock, knock — Tom is at the door. But your keys are not in your hand!

Round 1 — you are Mia

Your teacher is Tom. Speak your lines — don't write them.

Tom: "Are you ready, Mia?"

You: (say no — you can't find your keys; ask where they are)

Tom: "Look in your bag!"

You: (look 👜 — not there! now ask about your phone)

Tom: "It's on the table."

You: (look — your keys are there too! 🔑↔️📱 — say where they are)

Tom: "Great! Let's go!"

You: (say thank you — say you are ready)

Round 2 — swap!

Now YOU are Tom, and your teacher is Mia. But this time Mia can't find her phone — and it is in a funny place.
