Warm-up 🔁

Before the new story, let's bring back your words from the lessons before. The ones ready to review are waiting here — a little today, a little in a few days.

What are you doing? 📖

Read it slowly. Say the words out loud.

At the café, Rosa carries two cups while Mia wipes a table. A small ginger cat sleeps on a chair.

It is a busy day at the café. Rosa is carrying two cups. Mia is cleaning a table.

And look — a little ginger cat is sleeping on a chair! He comes to the café every day now. Rosa loves him.

Ring, ring! 📱 It is Mia's mother! "Hello, Mum!"

"Hello, Mia! What are you doing?"

"I am working, Mum! I am helping Rosa. The café is very busy today!"

"And Mum — a cat is sleeping on a chair! He is our cat now." Her mother laughs. "A cat! Wonderful!"

"Mia!" calls Rosa. "Sorry, Mum — I am going now. I can call you tonight!"

Mia in her cosy room in the evening, holding her phone to her ear and smiling, warm lamp light around her.

It is evening. Mia is in her room. She calls her mother. "Now I am not working, Mum. I am sitting in my room. I am drinking tea." 🍵

"Are you happy, Mia?" asks her mother. "Yes, Mum. I am very happy." 💛

Notice: Mia says I am working, Rosa is carrying cups, the cat is sleeping. This is how we talk about right now. Learn the words next.

Your new words 🗂️

Tap a card to see its meaning. These eight join your review deck — next to your words from the lessons before.

The pattern: I am -ing 🧩

For things happening right now, we use am / is / are + a verb with -ing.

I am working.  ·  I am drinking tea.
Rosa is carrying two cups.  ·  The cat is sleeping.
We are helping.  ·  They are talking.
To ask: What are you doing?
→ I am cleaning a table.
To say no: I am not working now.
Picture it: the story words tell us now ⏰ — Mia is talking on the phone 📞, Rosa is carrying cups ☕, and the cat is sleeping 🐈. Not yesterday, not tomorrow — right now.

Before you go

See you tomorrow. Today's words join the lessons before in your Warm-up. Little by little, they become yours forever. (And yes — the little cat is staying. 🐈)

Act it out 🎭

Now YOU are in the story!

🎬 The scene: A very full café. Rosa is carrying cups, you are cleaning tables, a little cat is on a chair. Ring, ring — it's your mother!

Round 1 — you are Mia

Your teacher is Mum. Speak your lines — don't write them.

Mum: "Hello, Mia!"

You: (say hello — and say how the café is today 🏃)

Mum: "What are you doing?"

You: (look around — say two things you are doing right now)

Mum: "Miaow? What is that?"

You: (tell her about the little animal — what is he doing? 🐈😴)

Mum: "Are you happy, Mia?"

You: (say yes — then say goodbye and what you do tonight 📞)

Round 2 — swap!

Now YOU are Mum, and your teacher is Mia. But this time it is evening — everything is quiet, and Mia asks what YOU are doing too.
