Warm-up 🔁

Before the new story, let's bring back your words from the lessons before. The ones ready to review are waiting here — a little today, a little in a few days.

The big weekend 📖

Read it slowly. Say the words out loud.

Mia and Ana at a café table with a map open between them, pointing excitedly; Rosa peeks over.

It is Friday. Mia's sister Ana is here! They sit at a little table in Rosa's café. ☕

Mia opens a big map on the table. "Look, Ana. This is my town. And this is our plan for the weekend!"

"Tomorrow morning, we are going to ride bikes," says Mia. "Tom has two bikes for us."

"Then we are going to see the castle on the hill. It is very, very old!"

Ana claps her hands. "I love it! And food? I am always hungry!" 😄

"We are going to have a picnic in the park," says Mia. "Bread, cheese and apples."

Rosa looks at the map too. "A picnic? Then I am going to make a big cake for you!" They all laugh.

Mia and Ana riding bicycles down a sunny country lane, scarves flying.

Saturday morning. The sun is out. Mia and Ana ride their bikes down a little road. The big weekend starts now! 🌞

Notice: Mia says "We are going to ride bikes" and "We are going to have a picnic". We say going to for our plans. Learn the words next.

The pattern: going to 🧩

For a plan, we say am / is / are + going to + an action word.

I am going to ride a bike.
We are going to see the castle.
She is going to make a cake.
Question: Are you going to come? — Yes, I am!
No plan? I am not going to sleep all weekend! 😄
Picture it: a plan in your head 💭 → say going to: I'm going to ride 🚴 · we're going to eat 🧺 · she's going to bake 🎂.

Act it out 🎭

Now YOU are in the story — with a big map on the café table.

🎬 The scene: Friday at Rosa's café. Ana is here, and you have big plans for the weekend.

Round 1 — you are Mia

Your teacher is Ana. Speak your lines — don't write them.

Ana: "So, Mia! Tell me! What is the plan for the weekend?"

You: (open the map — tell her the Saturday morning plan, on two wheels)

Ana: "Yes! I love it! And after that?"

You: (tell her the plan about the very old building on the hill)

Ana: "Wonderful! And food? I am always hungry!"

You: (tell her the plan about eating outside in the park — and what is in the basket)

Round 2 — swap!

Now YOU are Ana, and your teacher is Mia. But this time rain is coming on Saturday — ask about the new plans for inside.
