Warm-up 🔁

Before the new story, let's bring back your words from the lessons before. The ones ready to review are waiting here — a little today, a little in a few days.

Tell me everything! 📖

Read it slowly. Say the words out loud.

It is Monday morning. Mia is at the café. Rosa wants to hear all about the castle trip. 🏰

"So!" says Rosa. "Did you go to the castle with Tom?" "Yes, I did!" says Mia.

Mia shows photos on her phone to Rosa at the café counter. Both are delighted.

Mia takes out her phone. "Look — I show you my photos."

"Oh, lovely! Did you climb the tower?" asks Rosa. "Yes, I did. Up, up, up — a hundred stairs!"

"And did you like it?" "I loved it! But my legs… oh, my poor legs!"

Mia climbs the stairs again — slow… slower… stop! 😄

Rosa laughs so hard she wipes away a tear, coffee pot in hand, as Mia mimes climbing endless castle stairs.

Rosa laughs and laughs. "And Tom? Did he climb the stairs too?" "No, he didn't! He sat down and had a coffee."

"Ha! That is so funny. That is very Tom," says Rosa, and wipes away a happy tear. ☕

Notice: Rosa's little questions — Did you go? Did you climb? Did you like it? One small word, Did, opens the whole story. Learn the words next.

The pattern: Did you…? 🧩

To ask about yesterday, start with Did. The answer is short and easy.

Did you go?  ·  Did you like it?  ·  Did you climb the tower?
✅ Yes, I did.  ·  ❌ No, I didn't.
After Did, the verb goes back to its small form:
went → Did you go?  ·  saw → Did you see?  ·  had → Did you have?
Hear it: Rosa asks "Did you like it?" — not "Did you liked it?". Did already says "yesterday", so the verb can relax. 😌

Act it out 🎭

Now YOU are in the story — and this time, YOU ask the questions.

🎬 The scene: Monday morning at the café. Mia comes in with big news about the castle trip — and you want to hear it all.

Round 1 — you are Rosa

Your teacher is Mia. Speak your lines — don't write them.

Mia: "Good morning, Rosa! I have big news — Tom and I went to the castle on Sunday!"

You: (ask a Did-question about the tower and all those stairs)

Mia: "Yes, I did! A hundred stairs! Oh, my poor legs!"

You: (laugh — then ask a Did-question about pictures from the top)

Mia: "Yes, I did! Look — here on my phone. I show you!"

You: (say something nice about the photos — then ask a Did-question about Tom and the stairs)

Mia: "No, he didn't! He sat down and had a coffee!"

You: (say that is funny — and ask one last Did-question: the picnic? the cake? You choose!)

Round 2 — swap!

Now YOU are Mia, and your teacher is Rosa. But this time the trip was a day at the sea with Ana — give her your short yes-and-no answers.
