Warm-up 🔁

Before the new story, let's bring back your words from Lessons 1 and 2. The ones ready to review are waiting here — a little today, a little in a few days.

What do you love doing? 📖

Read it slowly. Say the words out loud.

Evening hobby night in the café: Tom painting, Rosa knitting, Mia strumming a guitar, all cosy.

On Wednesday, the café has a hobby night. Everyone brings something they love. 🎨

Tom loves painting. He paints a small picture of the bridge.

Rosa loves knitting. She makes a warm scarf, red and gold. 🧣

"I love reading," says Mia. "But tonight I want to try the guitar!" 🎸

Mia practising guitar by her window at home, the ginger cat listening, musical notes floating.

She plays slowly. It is not perfect, but everyone claps.

"I really enjoy this!" she laughs. "I like playing music!"

At home, she plays again. The ginger cat listens. 🎵

Notice: after like, love, enjoy, we use the verb + -ing. I love reading. She likes painting.

Act it out 🎭

Now YOU are at hobby night — what do you love doing?

🎬 The scene: Wednesday evening at the café. Tom paints, Rosa knits, and there is a guitar in the corner. Rosa welcomes you.

Round 1 — you are Mia

Your teacher is Rosa. Speak your lines — don't write them.

Rosa: "Welcome to hobby night! Tell me — what do you love doing in your free time?"

You: (tell her two hobbies you love or like)

Rosa: "Lovely! Look, Tom loves painting. Do you like painting too?"

You: (answer her, then say which hobby you want to try tonight)

Rosa: "Bravo! Everyone is clapping! So — do you like it?"

You: (say how you feel about playing music now)

Round 2 — swap!

Now YOU are Rosa, and your teacher is Mia. But this time you also ask about hobbies she DOESN'T like doing.
