Warm-up 🔁

Before the new story, let's bring back your words from Lessons 1 and 2. The ones ready to review are waiting here — a little today, a little in a few days.

The early key 📖

Read it slowly. Say the words out loud.

Mia yawns as she opens the café shutters at dawn, keys in hand, street lamps still glowing.

Big news! Rosa gives Mia the café keys. Now Mia can open the café. 🔑

But it means an early start. Mia has to get up at six o'clock! 😴

At the café, there is a lot to do. She has to turn on the machine.

She has to clean the tables. She has to make the first coffee. ☕

Rosa kindly showing Mia how to stack cups safely behind the counter, both focused.

"You have to check the bread, too," says Rosa kindly.

It is hard work. But Mia feels good. Rosa trusts her.

"I have to work hard," says Mia, "but I love it!" 💪

Notice: we use have to for things that are necessary — jobs, rules. I have to get up early.

Act it out 🎭

Now YOU have the café keys — show Rosa you know the morning jobs!

🎬 The scene: The café, early in the morning. Rosa puts the keys in your hand and wants to hear your plan.

Round 1 — you are Mia

Your teacher is Rosa. Speak your lines — don't write them.

Rosa: "Here are the keys! Now tell me — when does your morning start?"

You: (say the early time you get up, and your first job at the café)

Rosa: "Good! And what about the tables? And the bread?"

You: (list two or three more jobs that are necessary before the café opens)

Rosa: "Perfect. It is a lot of work, Mia. Are you happy?"

You: (say what kind of work it is, how you feel — and thank her for believing in you)

Round 2 — swap!

Now YOU are Rosa, and your teacher is Mia. But this time it is the evening — tell Mia what she has to do to close the café.
