Warm-up 🔁

Before the new story, let's bring back your words from Lessons 1 and 2. The ones ready to review are waiting here — a little today, a little in a few days.

A secret plan 📖

Read it slowly. Say the words out loud.

Mia circles a day on a wall calendar with a red pencil, looking excited and secretive.

Mia has a secret. Rosa's birthday is on the twenty-first of May! 🎂

Mia looks at the calendar. She circles the day with a red pencil.

"When is it?" asks Tom quietly. "The first Friday," whispers Mia.

They plan a surprise. A cake, some flowers, and all Rosa's friends.

Surprise! Rosa blows out candles on a cake as Mia, Tom and friends cheer, confetti in the air.

On the twenty-first, Rosa comes to work. The café is dark. Then — SURPRISE! 🎉

There is a big cake with candles. Everyone sings. Rosa cries happy tears.

"This is the best birthday!" she says. "Thank you all!" 🎈

Notice: for dates we use ordinal numbers: one → first, two → second, twenty-one → twenty-first.

Act it out 🎭

Now YOU are in the story. Rosa's big day is coming!

🎬 The scene: The café, before Rosa arrives. You and Tom are planning her special day in secret.

Round 1 — you are Mia

Your teacher is Tom. Speak your lines — don't write them.

Tom: "Psst, Mia! When is Rosa's big day?"

You: (say the date — the day and the month, the way you learned)

Tom: "So soon! What do we need for the party?"

You: (say two or three party things from your Words)

Tom: "And when Rosa opens the door — what do we all do?"

You: (say what kind of party it is and what everyone does when she comes in)

Round 2 — swap!

Now YOU are Tom, and your teacher is Mia. But this time the plan is for Ana's day in June, and you want a picnic in the park, not a party in the café.
