Warm-up 🔁

Before the new story, let's bring back your words from Lessons 1 and 2. The ones ready to review are waiting here — a little today, a little in a few days.

Grey clouds 📖

Read it slowly. Say the words out loud.

Tom and Mia look up at big grey clouds over the town; Tom holds out a palm to feel for rain.

Tonight is the outdoor cinema in the park. But the sky is grey. 🌥️

Tom looks up. "I think it will rain," he says. "Look at those clouds."

"Oh no," says Mia. "Then people won't come."

"Don't worry. I 'll help you," says Tom. "I 'll bring umbrellas." ☂️

Mia and Rosa doing a pinky-promise across the café counter, both giggling.

"And I 'll make hot chocolate," promises Rosa. They shake hands.

At seven o'clock, it does not rain! The sky clears. The film starts. 🎬

"You were wrong, Tom!" laughs Mia. "A perfect night!" 🌙

Notice: we use will ('ll) for predictions (I think it will rain) and quick promises (I'll help you).

Act it out 🎭

Now YOU are in the story. Look up — that sky does not look good.

🎬 The scene: Outside the café, the afternoon before the outdoor cinema. The sky is grey and Mia is worried.

Round 1 — you are Tom

Your teacher is Mia. Speak your lines — don't write them.

Mia: "Tom, look at the sky! What do you think?"

You: (look at the clouds and say what you think is coming tonight)

Mia: "Oh no — the film is tonight! And the people?"

You: (say what the people will NOT do if it rains)

Mia: "This is terrible. What can we do?"

You: (make her a promise — say you will help and what you will bring)

Round 2 — swap!

Now YOU are Mia, and your teacher is Tom. But this time the sun is VERY hot before the festival — make different predictions, and promise different things to bring.
