Warm-up 🔁

Before the new story, let's bring back your words from Lessons 1 and 2. The ones ready to review are waiting here — a little today, a little in a few days.

Lost property 📖

Read it slowly. Say the words out loud.

Mia holds up a red scarf in the middle of the café, asking the room; customers pat their necks comically.

Mia finds a beautiful red scarf on a café chair. But whose is it? 🧣

She holds it up. "Whose scarf is this?" she asks the room.

Everyone checks their neck! "It isn't mine," says one man.

"Is it Rosa's?" asks Tom. "No, Rosa's scarf is blue," says Mia.

An old lady joyfully claims the red scarf and pats Mia's hand; Tom applauds gently.

Then an old lady comes in. "Oh! That's mine! It's the lady's scarf!" 😊

She is so happy. "Thank you! My daughter made it for me."

Mia smiles. "I'm glad it's yours again!" 🧣

Notice: we ask Whose…? for the owner. To answer, we add 's to a name: Rosa's scarf.

Act it out 🎭

Now YOU are in the café — and you find the red scarf!

🎬 The scene: A beautiful red scarf is on a café chair. Whose is it? Nobody knows!

Round 1 — you are Mia

Your teacher is Tom. Speak your lines — don't write them.

Tom: "Look, Mia! A red scarf on this chair. Is it yours?"

You: (say it isn't yours — then ask the room who the owner is)

Tom: "Hmm. Maybe it's Rosa's?"

You: (say no — tell him what colour Rosa's scarf is)

Tom: "Look — the old lady at the door! Ask her."

You: (ask the lady if the scarf belongs to her)

Round 2 — swap!

Now YOU are Tom, and your teacher is Mia. But this time you find a black hat, and it is a man's, not a lady's.
