Warm-up 🔁

Before the new story, let's bring back your words from Lessons 1 and 2. The ones ready to review are waiting here — a little today, a little in a few days.

Tom's stories 📖

Read it slowly. Say the words out loud.

Tom telling a story at the café, arms spread wide like a fisherman describing a giant catch; Mia and Rosa enthralled.

Tom loves to tell stories from his life. He has travelled a lot. 🌍

"Have you ever seen the sea at midnight?" he asks Mia.

"No, I haven't," she says. "Have you?" "Yes, I have!" smiles Tom.

"I've climbed a mountain. I've eaten strange food. I've met kings!" 👑

Tom's old travel keepsakes on the table: a compass, seashells, an old photograph, a folded map.

He shows his treasures: a compass, some shells, an old photo. 🧭

"Have you ever been to the sea?" he asks. "Yes, once!" says Mia.

"Life is short," says Tom. "Do many things!" ✨

Notice: Have you ever…? asks about your life (any time). We use have + the third form: seen, been, eaten.

Act it out 🎭

Now YOU are at the café table, trading life stories with Tom!

🎬 The scene: The café, in the afternoon. Tom has his treasures on the table — a compass, some shells, an old photo.

Round 1 — you are Mia

Your teacher is Tom. Speak your lines — don't write them.

Tom: "Have you ever seen the sea at midnight?"

You: (answer — then ask him the same question back)

Tom: "Yes, I have! Look at this treasure — my old compass. It has travelled with me."

You: (ask him about a mountain — any time in his life)

Tom: "Yes, I have! It was very high. Your turn — have you ever eaten strange food?"

You: (answer — then tell him one true thing YOU have done in your life)

Round 2 — swap!

Now YOU are Tom, and your teacher is Mia. But this time your questions are about cities and food, not the sea.
