Warm-up 🔁

Before the new story, let's bring back your words from Lessons 1 and 2. The ones ready to review are waiting here — a little today, a little in a few days.

Party shopping 📖

Read it slowly. Say the words out loud.

Mia carrying a comic tower of party supplies — cups, streamers, a piñata — wobbling slightly down the street.

It is the day before the party. Mia goes shopping for it. 🎉

But she buys too many cups — two hundred! And too much lemonade! 🥤

She buys streamers, balloons, and one big piñata. The bags are so heavy!

Back at the café, Rosa counts everything. "Mia! This is too much!" she laughs.

Rosa counting a mountain of cups on the counter with a raised eyebrow; Mia grins sheepishly.

"But we don't have enough chairs," says Mia. "Oops!" 🪑

"Too many cups, not enough chairs," smiles Rosa. "Perfect!"

"Well," laughs Mia, "nobody will be thirsty!" 😄

Notice: too much + can't-count (lemonade) · too many + can-count (cups) · enough = the right amount.

Act it out 🎭

Now YOU are back from the shops — with very heavy bags!

🎬 The scene: The café counter, the day before the party. Rosa is counting a mountain of cups, bottles of lemonade, and balloons.

Round 1 — you are Mia

Your teacher is Rosa. Speak your lines — don't write them.

Rosa: "Mia! Two hundred cups?! Why?"

You: (say sorry — say you bought more cups than you need)

Rosa: "And all this lemonade! Can we drink it all?"

You: (say there is more lemonade than you need too — but nobody will be thirsty!)

Rosa: "Hmm. And chairs? I see only ten chairs."

You: (tell her the problem with the chairs — you need more)

Round 2 — swap!

Now YOU are Rosa, and your teacher is Mia. But this time you count the balloons, the cake and the tables.
