A 10-Lesson Series

Komorebi

the Japanese word for sunlight that filters through leaves — and ten lessons designed to do something similar to your English

About this series

Ten lessons for B2 and C1 students who would rather talk about something genuinely interesting than work through another textbook unit. Each one takes a single, slightly counter-intuitive idea from the borderlands of psychology, philosophy and everyday life — and uses it as the scaffolding for a careful piece of language work.

Every lesson follows the same five-tab pattern: a hook and a piece of discussion, eight pieces of C1-flavour vocabulary that all reappear in the reading, a five-paragraph passage with five comprehension questions, a focused grammar peg chosen to fit the topic, and a five-minute timed speaking task that pulls everything together. The reading also carries small pronunciation cues for live work with the teacher — phrasing, stress, linking, intonation, shadow reading.

You can take them in any order. Each is self-contained.
