Today's Focus

We use the Present Perfect Continuous to talk about:

Example 1: "I've been learning English for three years." (started in past, continues now)

How Do We Form It?

Formula: have/has + been + verb-ing

Look at these sentences and discuss:

1. "I've been watching a new series on Netflix."

Time Expressions We Use

Common time expressions with Present Perfect Continuous:

  • for + period of time (for three hours, for two weeks)
  • since + starting point (since Monday, since 2020)
  • all + time period (all day, all week, all morning)
  • recently / lately (without specific time)
