Type Structure Example
Present Wish I wish + past simple "I wish I spoke French." (but I don't)

Part 2: Mixed Conditionals - Connecting Past & Present

Type 1: Past situation โ†’ Present result
If + past perfect, ... would + verb
"If I had studied medicine, I would be a doctor now."
Type 2: Present situation โ†’ Past result
If + past simple, ... would have + past participle
"If I were taller, I would have played basketball."
"If I had saved money when I was young, I would own a house now."
