Year 7: Encountering Worldviews

How This Course Works

• One lesson per week — Each unit takes 6 weeks, with lesson materials, activities, and discussion prompts.
• Think like a scholar — Religious Studies isn't about what to believe; it's about understanding how and why people believe. We use scholarly language: describe, explain, analyse.
• Learn from sources — We study religious texts, art, rituals, and stories. You'll get to grips with primary sources and learn to interpret them.
• Respectful inquiry — We ask big questions: What does this belief mean? Why is it important? What would it be like to hold this worldview? No belief is mocked; all are explored.
• Assessment is ongoing — Each unit ends with a task that checks your understanding: mind maps, debates, essays, presentations.
