The Spark: Opinion Without Evidence

Saying an opinion is great, but at B1, you need to prove it. Here's the difference:

❌ Weak Opinion

"I think working from home is better."

No proof. Sounds like you just think it.

✓ Strong Opinion

"I think working from home is better. For example, in my experience..."

Now you've backed it up with evidence!

Guided Practice: Opinion + Example

For each opinion, choose the BEST example phrase and provide a real example:

Scenario 1
Your Opinion: "Remote work is better than office work."
You need to support this with an example from your life or knowledge.
Choose a phrase and explain why you think this.

Say: "I think... [opinion]. For example, in my experience..." or "I've seen this myself when..."

💡 Best: Use personal experience if you have it ("For example, in my experience...") or observation ("I've seen this myself...")

Scenario 2
Your Opinion: "Learning languages helps you understand other cultures."
You need to provide a concrete or personal example.
Choose a phrase and explain.

Say: "I believe... [opinion]. To give you a concrete example..." or "This reminds me of when..."

💡 Best: Could use "To give you a concrete example" (factual) or "This reminds me of when" (personal story)

Scenario 3
Your Opinion: "Teamwork is essential for success."
You need a compelling example that proves your point.
Choose a phrase and provide evidence.

Say: "I'm convinced that... [opinion]. Take [company/project] for instance..."

💡 Best: Use "Take [example] for instance" to cite a well-known case that proves your point
